30 Minute Diesel Locomotive Drive

All Aboard for an Unforgettable Adventure! Here’s your chance to make someone’s day seriously special with the chance to take the controls of a powerful Type 4 diesel locomotive along the scenic Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway in Oxfordshire.

After a warm welcome from the Chinnor Railway crew and a safety briefing, they’ll step onto the footplate, hear the signal clang, and then they’re off on this hands-on experience whilst covering 4 miles driving which will take approximately 30 minutes. 

With expert crew on hand and around 2,500 horsepower under foot, it’s the perfect mix of nostalgia, power, and panoramic views. Whether they’re a lifelong rail enthusiast or just love trying something a bit different, this is the kind of gift that gets remembered (and bragged about).

How long will my experience last?

The experience will last approximately 30 minutes, expect to be at the venue for up to 2 hours.

This voucher is for two people, there will be other people there on the day.

What else do I need to know?

The minimum age for this experience is 16.

Boarding is possible from the platform, but participants should be able to climb into the cab from track level. Wheelchairs and walking aids cannot be taken into the cab.
