Party Boats, LondonJon from Marketing, June 2019 |
What did you get up to?
We arrived for our experience on the hottest day of the year so far. After a sweltering, but very picturesque walk down the Embankment we came to Festival Pier, where our boat was moored. We were guided onto the boat by the crew and given our complimentary glass of Prosecco before being shown to our table on the top deck. The tables were well spaced and dressed in white linen. It was quite an experience drinking prosecco whilst gazing out across the water to the Houses of Parliament.
As we set sail, the captain gave us our route and pointed out all the sights, giving us interesting facts about the places we passed. The intrepid boat made its way past the Houses of Parliament before turning to head down stream on our way to Canary Wharf.
Our afternoon tea was served with a variety of sandwiches, scones, and cakes as well as a choice of tea or coffee to wash them down with.
After eating we were encouraged to go onto the viewing decks on the front and rear of the boat. The views were stunning, and we thoroughly enjoyed waving at the passing boats as we headed through Docklands towards Canary Wharf. This was a side of London we hadn’t seen before. We saw beaches and secret coves along the sides of the river and some amazing new buildings that seem to be growing all the time.
All in all, the whole experience lasted and hour and three quarters and we never felt rushed.
What did you enjoy the most?
The food was great! It was fresh and tasty and there was plenty for the both of us. The Red Velvet cake was especially good!
1. Make sure you go out on the open deck when they offer you the chance as the views are some of the best you will see in London, from a totally different perspective.
