With a selection of picturesque locations to choose from, you will be immersed in the breathtaking beauty of the British countryside as the train weaves its way through the landscapes. At some destinations, the tickets are valid for a return journey, while others offer a whole day rover ticket. This flexibility allows passengers to hop on and hop off, experiencing the local area at their leisure. Whether you want to sightsee, explore charming villages, or even enjoy a leisurely picnic, this day provides countless opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Included in this package is the opportunity to indulge in a delicious afternoon tea. Whether enjoyed on the same day as the steam train ride or saved for another cherished occasion, your delightful afternoon tea will be savoured at a separate location from the train experience. The afternoon tea itself is a true delight. Delicate sandwiches, accompanied by a choice of teas, will satisfy the palate with their flavours and textures. Following this light refreshment, sumptuous scones served with clotted cream and jam, and an array of exquisite cakes can be enjoyed. It truly is the perfect reward for a memorable day filled with adventure and tranquility.

The Nene Valley Railway

Experience Day Review
Step back into the bygone era of rail travel as soon as you set foot in the ticket office at The Nene Valley Railway. A hop-on-hop-off ticket allows you to explore areas such as the Ferry Meadows Country Park. All the staff are volunteers and obviously love what they do and are therefore very friendly and informative.

If you choose to take the afternoon tea on the same day, a fifteen-minute walk from Peterborough station takes you to The Bull Hotel, a 17th Century, Grade II listed building. The tea is a good stop off on your train journey, but I wouldn’t choose it for a special occasion. The whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable and is highly recommended for a day out.”
